NNA - Lebanese Forces party leader, Samir Geagea, on Friday welcomed at his Meerab residence, Member of Fatah Movement’s Central Committee, and member of the organizational committee of the "Palestine Liberation Organization", Minister Azzam Al-Ahmad, delegated by Palestinian President, Mahmoud Abbas, in presence of Ambassador of Palestine to Lebanon, Ashraf Dabbour.
"It had been an opportunity to review the situation in Lebanon, Palestine, and the Middle East as a whole, and what I can say is that our viewpoints are a hundred percent identical — whether in terms of the Palestinian cause, or the situation in Lebanon and the region,” Geagea said in the wake of the meeting.
“We share a similar opinion with the Palestinian Authority in terms of the Palestinian refugee file in Lebanon; refugees enthusiastically await their return to their historic land of Palestine, and have no other plans in mind,” he added.
Geagea also touched on the so-called "Deal of the Century", pointing out that everyone agrees that this deal was born dead.
"No solution to the Arab-Israeli conflict can begin by recognizing Jerusalem as the capital of Israel, or by annexing the Golan Heights to Israel,“ Geagea maintained.
In turn, Al-Ahmad relayed to Geagea the Palestinian leadership’s appreciation of the LF’s sincere support to the Palestinian people’s fight to restore their rights in full accordance with Arab and international legitimacy, and the Palestinian right to end the Israeli occupation and establish an independent Palestinian state with Jerusalem it's capital.
