Need to End the War in Lebanon Immediately

LOS ANGELES — In a congratulatory message to President Donald Trump on his election as President of the United States, from the editorial department of the Peru Times, which has been published in the United States for more than 40 years.

We congratulate President Donald Trump on his election as President of the United States of America. We hope he will support American interaction with Lebanon, uphold its sovereignty, and back the Lebanese army. Lebanon deserves peace and security, and it is time to achieve that.

Given the deteriorating situation caused by the war in Lebanon, we urgently need to take swift and decisive steps to restore peace and stability to the region. The continuation of the conflict endangers the lives of millions, hinders development, and increases the suffering of the Lebanese people.

Our top priority now is to end this war immediately by:

1. Immediate ceasefire: All conflicting parties must agree to an immediate ceasefire to end the violence, support the Lebanese Armed Forces, and implement international resolutions, particularly Resolution 1701.

2. Opening channels of dialogue: initiating a constructive and inclusive dialogue between all parties to reach peaceful and lasting solutions.

3. Humanitarian assistance: Providing urgent humanitarian assistance to those affected.
