Beirut - House Speaker Nabih Berri said today in a statement marking the 17th anniversary of the martyrdom of Prime Minister Rafic Hariri, that "in these critical moments that Lebanon is going through, once again the feeling is renewed of the very first moments of that crime intended to assassinate the country and the person on February 14, 2005...It is the same feeling of huge and irreparable loss for a patriotic and human stature that was imbued with love, openness, and devotion..."
Paying tribute to the memory of the late Martyr who sacrificed his life for the sake of his beloved country, Berri added: “On the anniversary of his martyrdom, we are all called upon to show political morality in which the late greatly believed, in conformity with agreement, partnership, and acceptance of the other... thus preventing the assassination of the Taif and Lebanon, by preserving the nation unified for all its citizens."
