Lebanon Announces Week-Long Lockdown of 111 Towns

Beirut - Lebanon’s Interior Minister retired Brigadier General Mohammad Fahmi, on Friday announced a week-long lockdown of 19 districts and 111 towns, starting Sunday, to curb the spread of coronavirus cases in the country.

The total lockdown of these regions will take place on Sunday October 4th at 6 a.m. until Monday October 12, the Interior Ministry said.

The lockdown will include the banning of all social and religious gathering while services for health and food will remain open.

Only travelers will be allowed to go from and to the airport on a condition to have a copy of the ticket as a mandatory document.

 No curfew was mentioned.
