Beirut - Lebanon's Interior Ministry amended nationwide nightly curfew amid restrictions to curb the spread of coronavirus.

Lebanon’s Interior Minister Mohammad Fahmi on Sunday issued an order aimed at amending the night curfew from 7 P.M. till 5 A.M following the increase in the number of the coronavirus cases in the country.

“Due to the lack of commitment of many citizens to the precautionary and public safety measures imposed by the government as well as their selfishness, disrespect, and indifference to their health and the health of their communities, we have decided to extend the night curfew in the country,” said a statement issued by the ministry.

"The situation is getting worse," it added.
