308 Iraqi citizens evacuated from Amman to Iraq, announces official

Amman -Two Iraqi planes have evacuated 308 Iraqi citizens from Queen Alia International Airport to Iraq.

In a press statement distributed by the Iraqi embassy in Amman on Thursday, spokesperson of the Iraqi Foreign Ministry, Ahmed Sahaf, said two Iraqi Airways flights were operated from Amman, respectively carrying 152, 156 Iraqi citizens, with a total of 308 nationals to their homeland.

This measure, taken in coordination with the concerned authorities in Jordan and Iraq, including the Iraqi embassy in Amman, aimed to obtain the necessary approvals to open airspace to evacuate the Iraqi citizens stranded in the Kingdom, Sahaf pointed out.

On the occasion, the Iraqi embassy hailed the facilitation provided by Jordan to evacuate Iraqi nationals to their homeland.
