Al‑Benyan Chairs 12th Board Meeting of the Regional Center for Quality and Excellence in Education

His Excellency the Minister of Education and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the UNESCO Regional Center for Quality and Excellence in Education, Mr. Yousef bin Abdullah Al-Benyan, chaired the twelfth meeting of the Center’s Board of Directors, in the presence of Their Excellencies and Highnesses the Ministers of Education, as well as heads of international, regional, and national organizations, under the auspices of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO).

At the outset of the meeting, the Minister of Education emphasized that the support extended by the Government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to the education sector and to the UNESCO Regional Center for Quality and Excellence in Education strengthens the Center’s role as a leading regional reference contributing to the enhancement of education quality and the expansion of its impact at both regional and international levels, in alignment with the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030.

During the meeting, UNESCO praised the Kingdom’s support for education and its sponsorship of the Center, reflecting a strategic partnership founded on improving the quality of education as a cornerstone of sustainable development. UNESCO also underscored the Center’s role in supporting educational policies based on capacity building and the promotion of innovation.

The twelfth meeting of the Board of Directors also featured a brief presentation on the agenda topics delivered by the UNESCO RCQE Director-General and Secretary of the Board, Dr. Abdulrahman Almedaires. The Board reviewed the 2025 achievements report, which included a portfolio of high‑impact initiatives and projects at the national, regional, and international levels, the financial statements for the fiscal year ended, as well as the proposed vision for transforming the Center’s scope from regional to international.
