Chef Yo Matsuzaki’s 8-seat chef’s counter experience features WREN’s acclaimed 19–22 course tasting journey
sourced and flown in directly from Tokyo’s Toyosu Market
Tysons, VA — April 24, 2025 — WREN, the award-winning modern Japanese izakaya located inside The Watermark Hotel in Tysons, is expanding its coveted Omakase experience to four nights a week. Starting this month, the 19–22 course tasting menu—crafted by Executive Chef Yo Matsuzaki and Executive Sushi Chef Hobin Kim—will be offered Wednesday through Saturday evenings. The expansion follows months of sold-out evenings and increasing demand from both local and visiting diners.
This intimate culinary experience is limited to just eight seats per night, offering guests a rare opportunity to dine directly at the chef’s counter and observe the artistry and precision behind each course. The menu is an elegant progression of small bites, hot and cold dishes, and premium sushi and sashimi—featuring seafood flown in directly from Tokyo’s famed Toyosu Fish Market and delicately aged to enhance flavor and complexity.
Guests may opt to pair their meal with a thoughtfully curated selection of sake and wine, chosen to complement each course and elevate the sensory journey.
“Our goal has always been to offer something truly special—where every detail, from the ingredients to the plating, reflects precision, passion, and purpose,” said Chef Yo Matsuzaki. “Omakase is more than a meal—it’s a conversation between the chef and the guest. Every course tells a story, and I’m honored that so many people have embraced that experience. Expanding to four nights a week allows us to share that connection with even more diners, while continuing to push creative boundaries.”
WREN has been honored with multiple accolades, including Virginia’s Restaurant of the Year, one of The Washington Post’s Top 7 restaurants, Diners’ Choice Awards from OpenTable and recognition as one of Northern Virginia Magazine’s Best Restaurants. These awards reflect the restaurant’s commitment to culinary excellence, hospitality, and the thoughtful dining experiences that set it apart.
Omakase reservations are required and available exclusively through Wren’s website: www.wrentysons.com. Guests are encouraged to book early due to extremely limited availability.
