Washington DC - White House spokeswoman Karen Jean-Pierre confirmed on Thursday that US President Joe Biden still believes in the possibility of reaching a diplomatic solution to stop the escalation between Israel and Hezbollah.

Biden "still believes it's achievable... The president still believes we have to be optimistic, and a diplomatic solution is the best way forward," she said in a press briefing, after bombings on Tuesday and Wednesday of communication devices carried by members of the party, which killed 37 people and injured about 3,000.

The White House also stressed that reaching a diplomatic solution in the Middle East is possible and urgent.

The White House spokeswoman said the White House believes that reaching a ceasefire agreement between Israel and the Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement "Hamas" would "calm" the region.
