James David Vance (born August 2, 1984) is an American Republican politician and lawyer who is currently a member of the United States Senate, representing Ohio, since 2023.
Trump's "Truth Social" platform reported this news at the start of the four-day Republican National Convention in Milwaukee to announce the party's nominee in the presidential elections.

Vance, a senator from Ohio, was born in 1984 in Middletown, Connecticut He graduated from Middletown High School in 2003 and earned a bachelor's degree in political science and philosophy from The Ohio State University in 2009;
He received his Juries Doctor from Yale Law School in 2013.
He served in the US Marine Corps from 2003 to 2007 and served in Operation Iraqi Freedom.
