MILWAUKEE - Former US President Donald Trump chose Republican Senator from Ohio, J.D. Vance, as his running mate in the US presidential elections.

James David Vance (born August 2, 1984) is an American Republican politician and lawyer who is currently a member of the United States Senate, representing Ohio, since 2023.

Trump's "Truth Social" platform reported this news at the start of the four-day Republican National Convention in Milwaukee to announce the party's nominee in the presidential elections.

Who is JD Vance?

Vance, a senator from Ohio, was born in 1984 in Middletown, Connecticut He graduated from Middletown High School in 2003 and earned a bachelor's degree in political science and philosophy from The Ohio State University in 2009;

He received his Juries Doctor from Yale Law School in 2013.

He served in the US Marine Corps from 2003 to 2007 and served in Operation Iraqi Freedom.

Elected as a Republican to the United States Senate in 2022 for a term expiring on January 3, 2029.
