Violinist/Pianist & Music Composer/Arranger.

Career bio:

Joseph Chamaa began his musical activities in 1957 by joining the broadcasting orchestra of Egypt as a first violin. He then moved to Lebanon where he taught at the Conservatory for 23 years. Along the way, he performed in hundreds of recording sessions with the BBC broadcasting orchestra.

He eventually joined the legendary singer Fairuz on a tour around the world. Their tour consisted of performances in England, Germany, France, Belgium, Algeria, Morocco, Syria, Jordan, the U.A.E, and the USA. While in Italy, he landed the opportunity to perform for the Pope at the Vatican.

In 1976 Mr. Chamaa became one of the pioneers of music therapy when he created Violorelax, a suite of 20 calming melodies composed for relaxation and sold in the pharmacies of Lebanon. According to observations from several physicians in Lebanon, his compositions were found to reduce stress in patients.

In the U.S.A. he has performed in TV shows such as “Murphy Brown”, “The Young and the Restless”, and has even performed with Sting at the Grammy Awards. He was teaching violin privately at the Waldorf school system, where he was developing new techniques for turning ordinary children into prodigies. Joseph also performed with the New Valley Symphony orchestra, and the MESTO Orchestra.
